FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Short answers for adult learners preparing for high-stakes exams - without marketing fluff.

How is Adapted Study different from flashcard or chatbot apps?

We start you in a comfortable study format, treat learning obstacles as first-class, and drive mastery with spaced retrieval on your materials by exam day - not generic notes or streaks. Written exams and oral boards stay on separate spines.

Why learning styles if the research is mixed?

Fair question - we name the VARK controversy on our Science page. Matching modality to preference may only slightly help learning outcomes; comfort helps many adults start. We then build with spaced repetition and retrieval practice, where the evidence is much stronger.

What study formats do you support?

Visual, auditory, read/write, and kinesthetic. We meet you in your primary mode and support your secondary so the on-ramp feels native. Kinesthetic means do-it practice (teach-back, scenarios, timelines, role-play) - not checklist drills.

Do you support dyslexia, ADHD, or ESL?

Yes. Accommodations reshape sessions and generation - clearer structure, optional dyslexia-friendly reading, focus mode with soft breaks, simplified language where it helps. Obstacles are product concerns, not themes.

Can I prepare for a written exam and an oral board together?

Use separate subjects. Written exams and oral boards have different materials and practice spines. Oral is speak-and-grade (not multiple choice bolted onto a written corpus).

Whose materials do I study from?

Yours. Upload PDFs, text, audio, YouTube, EPUB (with a lawful-use acknowledgment), CSV, or Anki packages. Default tutoring stays grounded in what you uploaded; any expansion beyond uploads is opt-in and labeled.

How does spaced repetition work?

Due reviews, quizzes, and flashcards share one smart review spine that spaces practice so what you learn sticks through exam day - without you managing the schedule yourself. This is where outcome evidence is strongest - see our Science page.

Is my EPUB or protected file safe to upload?

Only upload files you have a lawful right to use. We require a license acknowledgment and source for EPUBs. DRM-locked books fail ingest with a clear message - we never bypass protection.

Is there a free way to start?

Yes. Create an account and begin with Foundation using your own materials. Optional free preference assessment; paid plans unlock higher generation limits when you need them.

Do you guarantee I'll pass my exam?

No. We never promise exam outcomes. Founder's Circle offers a Conditional Readiness Guarantee: when you meet the study-path conditions (adherence - Rest Days count - and readiness toward exam day) and you do not pass, you get free continued access until your next attempt. It is not a cash refund and not a claim that finishing the program produces a pass. Details are on Pricing and in the Terms of Service.
